Innov8 Security: WordPress to hand-built HTML.

The move.

Innov8's website ran on WordPress. WordPress handles a lot well, but on a site like this the speed ceiling is real — managed hosting, theme overhead, and the layout shift that comes with it. On mobile, pages were taking six to nine seconds to load.

We rebuilt the site as hand-built static HTML and moved it onto Cloudflare Pages. Same content, same structure, mapped across cleanly — but built to load fast and stay fast. The contact form and tracking were rebuilt on the new platform, and the site sits inside the ongoing Local SEO subscription: Google Business Profile, citations, monthly content, and reporting.

The risk on any migration is losing the rankings you've already earned. That was the number we watched most closely.

The speed.

Measured across all eleven priority pages on Google PageSpeed Insights:

Every one of the eleven pages now scores 100/100 on both mobile and desktop. Google's "Good" threshold for load time is 2.5 seconds — the old site missed it badly on mobile at 8.5s; the new site clears it on every page. The desktop layout shift that used to jump the page around on load — a CLS of 0.71 — is now effectively zero.

The rankings.

A month on from the move, Innov8 ranks #1 for alarm installers Bishop's Stortford, #1 for access control installers Bishop's Stortford, and page one for every CCTV term we track — cctv Bishop's Stortford at 3 — plus the local map pack across alarm and CCTV searches. No drop, no recovery period. Straight onto page one for the terms that bring in work.

The hosting.

Hosting moved from around £600 a year on a managed WordPress host to £0 on Cloudflare Pages. Faster site, no hosting bill.
